Syllabus and General facts of life for the course.
Here is a page of useful supportive materials for the course, things like how to study math etc. It has grown and become cluttered so I wanted to get it off the main page.
Homework and general announcements will be here.
Problem set assignments:
The results on the first exam were very good. Here is the distribution and here is a graph of the distribution. There were 48 points on the exam. The average was 28 for both lectures combined (205 students) (like the distribution and graph). The high grade for the class was 42 and the low was 6. And, finally, the first exam in pdf.
The results on the second exam were very good. Here is the distribution and here is a graph of the distribution. There were 44 points on the exam. The average was 24 for both lectures combined (202 students) (like the distribution and graph). The high grade for the class was 43/44 and the low was 6. And, finally, the second exam in pdf.
The final exam for this course is at 9am Friday, Dec 15. It will be in Hodson 110 and it will be a common final with both our class and Prof. Ha's class.
Review Problems for the Final: The best way to prepare for the final is to do problems. Here are my suggestions (some of these were, in fact, homework problems). If you can do all of them, you'll be in good shape for the final.
Chapter 2, Review Exercises: 3, 6, 13, 17, 18, 22, 29, 37, 43.
Chapter 3, Review Exercises: 35, 15, 17, 19, 21.
Chapter 6, Review Exercises: 9, 23, 25.
Chapter 7, Review Exercises: 1622, 2628.
Chapter 8, Review Exercises: 5, 7, 13, 15, 1922.
Here is the distribution for the final exam. There were 78 points on the exam. The average was 39.3 for both lectures combined (200 students). The high grade for the class was 75/78 and the low was 11. And, finally, the final exam in pdf.
