Problem Set Number 4, Due Feb 20 or 21.

These problems can be done in groups of 4 or fewer, all of whom must be in the same section. All must sign the problem set.

This set is due at the end of section on Thursday or Friday, You can work on the set in your group during the section on Thursday or Friday.

The reading assignment for the third week is sections 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4.

From now on I will try to post solutions to the problem set on this web site Friday night or Saturday morning. That means that you MUST get your homework in before the end of the day on Friday. You are supposed to hand it in in section but if that fails then you must get it in before the math office closes (perhaps at 4 sometimes).

Keep in mind that you have an exam coming up on Tuesday, Feb 25. We have two rooms for the exam. On that Monday I will tell you which room to go to and I will post it on the web site as well.

We now know how to do a lot of calculations so there are a lot of good problems at the end of these sections which you should work to get warmed up for the problem set. For example: Section 3.2: 1, 7, 9, 11, 15, 19, 29, 33. Section 3.3: 3, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 21, 23, 28, 30, 26 (this one is trivial and you should think about it until it is trivial). Section 3.4: 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 15, 17, 35.
