Problem set assignments:
Problem Set Number 1, Due Jan 30 or 31.
Problem Set Number 2, Due Feb 6 or 7. Snow day. Friday section students should hand in your homework in class on Monday.
Problem Set Number 3, Due Feb 13 or 14.
Well, gee, this is fun staying in all day working on Linear Algebra, which is what I'm doing and what I expect that you all are doing. However, it does look like we need to move things around a bit. If we have school on Wednesday, Feb 19, then I'll probably just move the exam to Wednesday Feb 26. We'll still have 3 days of lecture before the exam that way. If school is canceled Wednesday, Feb 19, then I'll have to rethink everthing and will post it here.
You should be working lots of problems. I've made up the exam and, by accident, it is much much too long. The prize will go to those who don't have to think because they know the answer.
Also, I suppose we need to change the due date for the homework. Let's move that to next week.
Calculators are not allowed on exams. You must know how to DO things and pushing buttons doesn't qualify. The same goes for homework. You can use matlab or calculators to check your work but you must show your work to get credit.
Problem Set Number 4, Previously due Feb 20 or 21 but now due Feb 27 and 28.
Important information about our exam, Feb 26, Wed.
Problem Set Number 5, due March 6 or 7.
Problem Set Number 6, due March 20 or 21.
Problem Set Number 7, due March 27 or 28.
Why didn't someone tell me that set 7 solutions weren't here all week?
Problem Set Number 8, due April 3 or 4.
Important information about our exam, April 8, Tuesday.
There will be no problem set due April 10 or 11. However, the exam will be handed out in section and your TA will go over it.
Problem Set Number 9, due April 17 or 18.
Problem Set Number 10, due April 24 or 25. Solutions to set # 10
There is no problem set for the last week. However, I highly recommend working lots of problems. The final exam is long and hard.
The final exam will be in two rooms on Thursday, May 8, 9-12. Sections 4 and 6, Joe Loeffler's students, will be in Hodson 210. The other sections (1,2,3,5,7,8) will be in Mudd 26.
