Calculus II, 110.107, Fall 2013, W. Stephen Wilson

Problem Set Number 1, Due Tuesday or Thursday Sept 10 or 12.

These problems can be discussed in groups but must be handed in by each student. Keep in mind my warnings about how to learn in the Syllabus.

This set is due in section. The TA will decide whether it is due at the beginning or end. Lates are not accepted.

The reading assignment for this week and next week is Sections 7.4, 8.1, and 8.2.

However, the most important thing you can do now is review your high school algebra and look at the syllabuse for Calc I and make sure that you have covered everything in it. If not, quickly learn the material. I will assume you know all of that cold and that you didn't forget a thing over the summer, or since you last took algebra or calculus. Lots of Calc I courses won't make it to integration by parts, so learn that if yours didn't.

7.4

2, 6, 12, 14, 20, 22, 24, 29, 32, 40

Sorry, we don't have that much to do this week because we haven't covered much material. Look at the other problems in this section and see if you find something interesting to work. Odds are, if you don't have time or the curiosity to do this, you won't learn as much in this course as you should.
