Honors Linear Algebra

Reading assignment number 1: Chapter 1, Sections 1-4.

We'll start slow the first week and speed up as we go.

On the problem set, there are 3 points per problem. You have to have it all right to get all 3 points. A little bit wrong and you get 2 points. A little bit right and you get 1 point. All wrong is 0.

Problem set number 1, due in section, Friday, Sept 14.

Section 1.2, pages 14-16.

7, 14, 15, 21

Note that 14 and 15 are answered in the book. However, you need to justify your answers.

Section 1.3, pages 21-23.

10, 14, 16, 17, 20, 28, 30, 31(a)(b)(c)(d) (yes, 3 points each for a, b, c, and d)

Section 1.4, page 34.

11, 13

Although not assigned because they are basic computational problems, any student who wants to be functional in this course has sense enough to work problems 2-6 and 8-10 in 1.4.
