Course Material for Non-Euclidean Geometry
Fall 2005, 110.228.
Professor: W. Stephen Wilson, Krieger 421, (410) 516-7413, wsw@math.jhu.edu
Textbook: Foundations of Geometry by Gerard Venema.
(If you google Venema and find his web page for his book you
will find an errata sheet. It seems that all of the errors are
simple typos that should cause no confusion.)
Class is 10am MTW, in Latrobe 120.
Office hours are MTW 9:15 to class time. Also, you can
see me right after class.
The goal of the course is to understand the mathematics behind
this Escher print and
this picture, jpg or
this picture, pdf.
Along the way we
will do the foundations of geometry right.
I have a doctor appointment Monday morning Dec 12 early.
I expect to make it to class on time but might miss
some office hour.
