Linear Algebra, 110.201, Fall 2003, W. Stephen Wilson

If you haven't notified me of problems with the final date then do it NOW.

Problem Set Number 4, Due Oct 3.

These problems can be discussed in groups but must be handed in by each student. Keep in mind my warnings about how to learn in the Syllabus.

This set is due at the beginning of section on Friday, Oct 3. There will be a quiz in section on this material (and any previous material).

The reading assignment for the second week is sections 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4.

We have an exam coming up on Tuesday Ocotober 7. It will cover Chapters 1, 2, and 3. Note, however, that Chapters 1 and 2 are just preparation for the good stuff in Chapter 3. You have now been forwarned.

I have had some requests to post homework solutions. There is a problem with this though. There are groups on campus who archive such postings and as there are limited problems which can be assigned it gives these groups an unfair advantage. Student complaints about groups achiving homework and old exams (in all departments) has been a major student complaint on campus. The response of the math dept is to make old exams available to everyone. However, because of the limited number of problems in the book we cannot do this with homework.

The math club meets on Thursdays at 7pm in Krieger 211. You can find out about it at: MATH CLUB.
