110.106 Calculus I --- Summer 2003

[THIS is the page to bookmark for this course. All related pages will hang off of it.]
Or, maybe you really want the index page instead?

This is the first part of a three semester course on Calculus I.

The class meets Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday at 9:00 a.m. in Hodson 313. The instructor is Scott Zrebiec.

The text for this and all subsequent courses is the book:

Calculus  by Salas, Hille, and Etgen,
and is available in the Bookstore.

Homework: There will be assignments everyday. An important part of each homework assignment is the readings for the next class. These homework assignments are very large: remember each day is roughly equivalent to 1 week of class in the regular summer. Discussion of homework problems with others is allowed, and indeed encouraged. Homework will not affect your grade directly, but will be vital for success on the quizzes and exams.

Quizzes: There will be daily quizzes given in the middle of class. Time should not be a factor on these, and in practice you should often be able to take five minute break before lecture resumes. During this break it is not permissible to discuss the quizzes with anyone. Also, talking is not allowed while in the class room. Failure to follow these rules will result in all involved parties receiving a "zero" on the quiz.

Solutions to Old homework assignments and quizzes are now stored here (coming soon).

The grader for the course is the instructor.
