and integral calculus. Includes analytic geometry, functions, limits, integrals
and derivatives, polar coordinates, parametric equations,

Try to complete every assignment
in preparation for the weekly quiz.
Homework study groups are
strongly encouraged. Math Help Room is open M-F,
Quiz = 10-15 min.
test to be taken every week during section, covering previous material.
Graded quizzes are handed back
by the TA the next section.
Questions or complaints about
the quiz grade are addressed on the same day you get the quizzes back (in
section).
Midterm Exams: there are two midterm exams, during lecture
time.
Midterm 1: Tuesday, October
12.
Midterm 2: Monday, November
15.
Questions or complaints about
the grade are addressed on the same day you get the exam back (in section).
Students arriving late for the
exam will not be granted extra time.
Absences: no
make-up exams for the midterms. Excused absences will be granted only to those with
official documents from the Academic Advising Office. For excused absences, the
grade for a missed exam will be a weighted average of the other two exams.
There will be no grade for unexcused absences.
Final Exam: 9-12 Noon, Friday, December 10. Location TBA.
Show up 10 minutes before
starting time to secure a seat in the exam room.
Bring your J-card. You will not
be allowed to take the exam without it.
If you have a time conflict you
must inform your TA and the office of academic advising at least two weeks in
advance.
Grading policy: quiz
15%, 1st midterm 20%, 2nd midterm 25%, final 40%.
Special needs:
Students with special needs
requiring extra time or special assistance during exams must inform the
instructor and the
Office of Academic Advising at
the beginning of the course.

Academic Honesty:
academic dishonesty is unacceptable.
All cases of academic dishonesty
are investigated thoroughly and punished severely.
Forbidden during tests (quiz, midterm,
final exam): open books, notes, calculators (you don’t need them anyway) and
talking to each other.
